I'm sure Ian is gonna remember his first birthday in San Diego; the car ran out of gas (we are trying to push the gas limit) while we are driving to a Hawaiian BBQ place for his birthday and a police car is right behind us!
The police officer approached our car and Caleb (innocently) opened the door wanted to get out of the car to see what can be done. The police officer was annoyed and slammed the car door back. The police officer later explained that is not a wise thing to do when a police officer is approaching the car, thinking a 'criminal' is trying to run or attack him (lesson learnt!).
With the police officer help (me steering and Ian & Caleb pushing) we pushed the car to the side (away from the junction). Thankfully we are close to the eating place, we decided to eat first (3 hungry people) and solve the car thing later.
After lunch, Ian bought a gas can plus a gallon of gas which is more than sufficient for us to drive the car to the nearest gas station.
What a drama but Happy Birthday Ian!

hey hey happy birthday ian! we wanted to call but then realised that it would have been like 3am so we didn't. but thank goodness for internet! hope that you find a soccer team to join soon...

Ian plays soccer every Tuesday night and Sunday afternoon! He managed to find a group of church guys who play soccer so off he goes...*grin* and I'm happy for him then i get my nap/ TV time!

hahaha, being accosted on your birthday by the PO-LEESE (say in Chris Rock voice) is how awesome? sure remember one! hehehehe
other than that, at least he didn't pistol whip Ian.. so all in all, a very good birthday! Hawaiian makes me rather hungry at 130 in the morning..
